Murray Life Magazine
is still the only independent general features magazine devoted to the people and the community of Murray. From personality profiles to recipes, from business development to historical retrospectives, since 1996 Murray Life has been Murray's magazine.
What's new is our editorial board, a group of writers which constantly re-focuses on the people and place of Murray. A new promotional team has now increased the visibility of Murray Life and puts a copy into nearly 45 percent of Murray's most commercially active households. Political office holders and vital opinion leaders will see each issue. Murray Life Magazine is now in every of every hotel right here in Murray.

Robert Valentine - Publisher/Senior Editor
Bob Valentine became the publisher of Murray Life in 2000. An educator by training and practice, he has been a university faculty member since 1973. He joined the Murray State University faculty in 1974, and now teaches in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. At MSU, Bob has coached a national-championship debate team, taught Speech, Communication, and Theatre, and served for seven years has faculty head of Elizabeth Woods College.
He has served Murray as Executive Director of Playhouse in the Park, a Commissioner of Tourism, a Director of the Chamber of Commerce, and as publisher of the annual Murray-Calloway County Magazine.
He entered the publishing world in 1978 as co-author of a college textbook, and became a publisher in 1984. The author of two books, eight plays and several hundred magazine articles, he is the Managing Partner for New Caledonian Press, and senior editor for Wake Up Publishing.

Rita Oldham - Associate Editor/Operations Manager
Rita has been the Associate Editor/Operations Manager of Murray Life Magazine since mid-2005. She came on board with the magazine as the Sales & Marketing agent in late 2004 and still acts as the director of that division. Rita graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 2004 after struggling for many years to raise a family, help provide for them and attend school all at the same time. She resides in Murray with her loving husband, Jim and their three children. |

Justin Kimbro - Art Director
Justin is a lifelong Murray native and Honors Graduates of Murray State University. Justin is the owner of K-Squared Designs in Murray and also serves as Project Coordinator for the Murray Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind. He is also a member of the Western Kentucky Highland Festival Society.

Kyle Smith - Associate Web Editor
Kyle was born in Murray and raised in Mayfield, Ky. He graduated from Graves County High School in 2006. He is currently working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Advertising at Murray State University. He will graduate with an Honor’s Diploma in December 2009. He is involved with the Murray State News, MSU Ads Club and is a member of Honor’s Program Student Council. While at home he lives with his parents and his dog. In his spare time he likes listening to good music and playing video games. |
